For your listening pleasure during your time in the car, truck, boat, yacht, canoe and/or kayak this holiday weekend to tee up the Canadian summer, we present the latest Gaming News Canada Show podcast presented by Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP.

This week’s panel of Kindred Group’s Amanda Brewer, along with Parleh Media Group co-founders Mark Silver and Gavin Roth, covered consolidation, M&A, the impact of partnerships/sponsorships and a couple of other matters around the news this week that PointsBet Canada isn’t included in the acquisition by Fanatics of PointsBet’s U.S. operations. Dr. Michael Naraine from Brock University’s sports management program joined to offer his thoughts on potential changes to the rules around sports betting and gaming advertising from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. And Brewer gave an update on the plans for iGaming Ontario to deliver a centralized self-exclusion program to the province’s licensed operators.

Roth, a veteran of the partnership/sponsorship industry, led a conversation about the discussion at a Massachusetts Gaming Commission meeting this week around the use of branding by sportsbook operators and potentially ordering them to incorporate age requirements into that branding.

Finally, we announced that our newsletter sponsor GBG Plc is presenting a What’s Next for iGaming Regulation in Canada webinar on June 10, including GBG’s Rebekah Jackson, Brewer and Gaming News Canada editor-in-chief holding the moderator’s microphone.
